Purchasing Policy

Basic Principles:

It is the UK Purchasing Department’s policy to:

  • Achieve best value in all areas of procurement;
  • Encourage effective competition from its suppliers;
  • Provide equal opportunity for competing suppliers;
  • Purchase only from approved suppliers;
  • Minimise commercial risk;
  • Reduce operational vulnerability due to supply shortages;
  • Continuously improve supplier performance;
  • Increase supplier added value;
  • Involve personnel from all functions and suppliers as appropriate to resolve supply issues by effective team-working and co-operation; and,
  • Conduct all business in accordance with the Purchasing Department Code of Conduct. 

Suppliers are expected to:

  • Ensure full understanding of the Aliaxis requirements and supply only in accordance with specified quality and service levels;
  • Continuously improve their own sources of supply, product design, manufacturing methods and supply processes to reduce, and wherever possible, eliminate cost;
  • Create a sustained competitive edge;
  • Maintain confidentiality;
  • Observe all legislative requirements; and,
  • Conduct all business in an ethical manner.
