Purchasing Policy
Basic Principles:
It is the UK Purchasing Department’s policy to:
- Achieve best value in all areas of procurement;
- Encourage effective competition from its suppliers;
- Provide equal opportunity for competing suppliers;
- Purchase only from approved suppliers;
- Minimise commercial risk;
- Reduce operational vulnerability due to supply shortages;
- Continuously improve supplier performance;
- Increase supplier added value;
- Involve personnel from all functions and suppliers as appropriate to resolve supply issues by effective team-working and co-operation; and,
- Conduct all business in accordance with the Purchasing Department Code of Conduct.
Suppliers are expected to:
- Ensure full understanding of the Aliaxis requirements and supply only in accordance with specified quality and service levels;
- Continuously improve their own sources of supply, product design, manufacturing methods and supply processes to reduce, and wherever possible, eliminate cost;
- Create a sustained competitive edge;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Observe all legislative requirements; and,
- Conduct all business in an ethical manner.
