Aliaxis once again short listed by CIPS for Purchasing Excellence
Aliaxis are pleased to announce that for the second year running their Purchasing Dept have been nominated by CIPS for one of their Annual Awards of Purchasing Excellence. This year however they have been nominated in two categories.
For the second year running the internal Aliaxis Group Purchasing Dept web site (not this site) has been short listed. UK Director Mick Ambrose says “although we had our web site nominated last year we were advised that as it was not completely finished we should resubmit it again this year which is what we have done and we are delighted that the judges have once again recognised the hard work & creativity in the project which as far as we know is unique”.
Once again Aliaxis will have a tough battle to secure the top prize as there are some real heavyweights challenging for the honour. IBM, the NHS, Peterborough City Council and huge distribution company Wincanton are the challengers.
The other category that Aliaxis have been nominated for is in the Best Purchaser Supplier Collaboration category where the energy management arrangements established between Aliaxis and energy consultant Encore have been recognised as a worthy nominee.
The collaboration was established in 2006 and in that time an effective energy trading arrangement has been established for all Aliaxis sites and our partners in the Etex group for the supply of electricity. A significant amount of new purchasing practice has been developed by the two companies in this challenging market and both businesses have benefited considerably from the collaboration.
Once again Aliaxis has some very tough competition and CIPS have described this category as “the fiercest of all competitions, once again showing a depth of quality”. Aliaxis are challenging with some lofty competition in Allianz & TPF Group, AstraZeneca & Cognizant, BAE Systems & Kembrey Wiring Systems, Aircraft Carrier Alliance (an alliance made up of MoD, BVT, Babcock, BAE Systems & Thales), the NHS & Cambrian Healthcare and Somerfield & Wincanton; all of which are well established and well known organisations with huge procurement resources at their disposal.
CIPS have announced that this year's judging was the most difficult to date with a record number of entries and Aliaxis has done very well in securing two nominations with only Wincanton, HSBC Bank, the NHS, AstraZeneca and BAE Systems being more successful.
The Awards will be announced in early September.
