No it doesn’t. Aliaxis will assess all registered parties and select those that it considers have the capability, resources and know-how etc., to complete the contract. Those that are considered suitable will be included on any subsequent tender. If your company is not approved you will be advised of that decision but any such non-approval will not limit your company from another tender should the purchase requirements be more suitable to your company’s credentials.
No although suppliers that have achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 1401 may have an advantage in pre-qualification exercises.
Yes it does, please see the procedure which can be found under the purchasing policy menu.
Like all companies price is an important factor to Aliaxis and we will look very favourably at all competitive prices. However value is very important and sometimes what appears to be the lowest bid may not in the end turn out that way. Thus we tend to look at the total cost of ownership of the product or service that we are purchasing and then decide what is the most commercially beneficial option; this may indeed be the most competitive tendered price but not always.
Yes we are always interested in hearing about alternative solutions to our purchase requirements but we would still like the required response to the details set out in our invitation to tender document. Thus if you have an alternative solution to our needs (perhaps an enhanced technical product), then by all means propose this but as an addition to the tendered requirement. Aliaxis will then view both proposals and decide if we wish to explore further the alternative proposal.
Aliaxis prefer to contract in Pounds Sterling although we recognise that for suppliers from for example the Eurozone or from the US that local currencies may be preferential. For orders placed with suppliers from other countries such as China or India then again the purchase in US dollars may be considered. In all cases Aliaxis require that the supplier works closely with Aliaxis to minimise the impact of any currency fluctuation.
Aliaxis will select the preferred Incoterm and advise the requirement in the invitation to tender document. Depending on the nature and source of the purchased goods Aliaxis may select an Ex-Works delivery or a DDP delivery or anything in-between. Whatever Incoterm is selected the tenderer should include the costs in their tender submission which will form part of the evaluation process.
We have a series of terms and conditions which we apply as required, for example an order for a set of tooling will have the specific terms and conditions for tooling. However we envisage that the majority of purchases will utilise the General Conditions of Purchase.
The specific purchase order shall state which terms and conditions shall apply and all tenders should likewise state which terms should be considered for your tender response.
The specific purchase order shall state which terms and conditions shall apply and all tenders should likewise state which terms should be considered for your tender response.
We anticipate that the majority of our purchases will be adequately served by one of these sets of conditions however from time to time we may develop some bespoke terms for a particular order, for example for a civil works project or an IT purchase. Any bespoke terms will be included in the applicable tender documents.
Generally yes however any suggested variations will be assessed as part of the tender evaluation process and compliant bids will gain an advantage in the assessment. At Aliaxis we believe that our terms or purchase are fair and reasonable to both parties and although we will consider any requested amendments we do not guarantee to accept them.
It’s not the intention of Aliaxis to use any other terms of purchase.
