Managed Print, Copy & Fax Solution – Marley Plumbing & Drainage Site at Lenham
Following a successful implementation of a managed print, copy and fax solution at Hunter Plastics in 2007 a similar approach and strategy was implemented at MPD in 2008 when Group Purchasing sought the services of Ikon, a leading supplier in this business sector.
Working closely with Group Purchasing and Group IT Departments, Ikon carried out a full print audit across the business. After analysing the data collected, Ikon supplied a number of trail machines, which were placed in strategic positions throughout the site. The trial was considered a great success by the MPD employees involved and consequently a contract was placed with Ikon for the supply, installation and maintenance of a consolidated managed print, copy and facsimile solution for a five year period.
Following their appointment Ikon was able to provide:
- A new fleet of high speed multifunctional machines, replacing the existing slow, ageing and costly desk top printers;
- The ability to copy, print, scan and facsimile from the same machine;
- The opportunity to scan and send facsimiles direct from the User’s desk top;
- A low price calculated per page; and
- The provision of all consumables and service inclusive in the overall cost.
Overall the Ikon solution provided a standard, efficient and cost effective approach to print management whilst achieving cost savings in excess of 30% and a resource saving of 1 man day per week.
